I don’t know why I’m shocked. We knew about this weeks ago, but I’m still weeping with the official announcement. And I’m so deeply angry at how much my country hates women. Thinking of you. Wish I could be with you and find reassuring words to offer. Be safe.
Thank you, dear Gabrielle. Your words and posts mean more than you can possibly imagine. I'm receiving personal texts from a variety of my female friends this morning. There is so much rage and sense of devastation. The thing is there are SO MANY MORE of us, and yet they have the legal power in our no-longer-democratic-nation, but the death of democracy, unlike Roe v Wade, has not yet been formally announced. And yet, like you said, "We knew about this weeks ago".. we've known about our dying democracy for a few years now... but what to do? what to do? I think women will organize a kind of underground railroad a la Harriet Tubman, for women and girls in need of reproductive health care, but it will be SO hard, and not everyone will get what they need and many will go to prison, including doctors and other health care providers, maybe a sister or friend of the woman who tried to help her.. But what will we do about our gravely ill democracy?? What will we do about the rogue Republican politicians who are greedily fattening their purses and wallets, and couldn't give two shits about democracy or the future of our children not having a habitable planet to live on. None of us has a stomach for war, but they do.
What truly enrages me is that I feel even more powerless after this week's decision and news. 1. I live in Mass so most likely, abortion shall remain available and safe. But this isn't about me. Overall a fetus will have more rights than a grown ass woman. 2. In states where you need special permission to carry a gun out in the open, like mine, the rights of some yahoo with a gun supersedes my right to feel safe. In Mass, we aren't called Massholes for nothing. Road range is a thing (I'm half joking here but not really). And 3. Trump and his cronies are so obviously guilty of sedition and I know nothing will happen to them.
I really want to become an Ex-Pat. I hate our country right now. However, I feel that I need to stay to fight for rights for my kids who probably couldn’t relocate. Please vote, Millennials and Gen-Zs!
Unspeakable sadness. As a former very active mormon, a mother of five and grandmother of 20…I’m heartbroken over the disregard the Supreme Court has for women. 🥲
Is it possible to please re-post or send me the article about men and responsible ejaculation? Now more then ever men need to be reminded of their responsibility in pregnancy.
I’m feeling all the rage and sadness. But also relief that I got my 11-year-old daughter out. (We moved to Portugal a year ago.) Of course my nieces and my friends’ daughters are not out so I’m marinating in a heaping helping of survivor’s guilt, as well. Just… feeling all the feelings right now. Goddammit, America!!
Wondering if you feel any sense of relief not living in the US anymore? I’m so disgusted with the United States and really want to live out of the country. 😡
Ladies, we have to turn this rage and sadness into votes for Democracy. I believe the key to saving our country will be to engage the youngest voters. Please postcard, canvass, donate . . . please do what you can. Blue Future is an organization doing this work.
So much anger for this Supreme Court--so much frustration and sadness!! And despair.
I woke up. I read the headline and said No. and started shaking and crying. I’m furious
Heartbroken. Resolute. And really pissed.
I am heartbroken and furious.

Beyond devastating
Angry
Sad
Heartbroken for so many women
Need some time to cry
Unspeakable sadness. As a former very active mormon, a mother of five and grandmother of 20…I’m heartbroken over the disregard the Supreme Court has for women. 🥲
Taking a moment to grieve, then marshalling my anger to fight.
Welcome to the world where it is now even more unsafe and dangerous to be a woman.

Thank you for saying it for us when some of us feel speechless.
