The first thing I saw when I woke up and checked my phone this morning, was a whole lot of celebrating about Zohran Mamdani winning the the Democratic nomination for the NYC mayoral election. I collected of bunch of my favorite posts and put them into Stories on my other Instagram account. Definitely go give them a read if you need a burst of joy.
Another thing that’s bringing happiness to my life is Melani Sander’s We Do Not Care club. The club has had lots of fun media attention lately, so hopefully you know about it already, but for those who don’t, prepare yourself for a treat. To learn about We Do Not Care Club, head over to Melanie’s Instagram or Tiktok and watch any of her videos starting around mid-May. Here’s a great one to start with.
We Do Not Care club is for anyone going through perimenopause or menopause, and at the meetings, Melani makes announcements of all the things we no longer care about.
Your turn. What’s bringing joy to your life right now?
kisses,
Gabrielle
I was inordinately happy to wake up to the news about Mamdani today and I live in Albania and will probably never live in NYC. I've been following his joyous campaign for weeks and its only the primary! Cannot wait for the general election.
It was so incredibly affirming to see Mamdani’s campaign take hold - we were also thrilled that our incumbent city council rep, who was primaried for speaking out against the war in Gaza by a very well funded and competitive candidate, easily won with over 70% of the first choice votes. It was truly a fantastic night to be a New Yorker who wants a city that is affordable to all.
