After two solid years of binge podcast listening and audio-booking on all my walks/hikes/bike rides (for fitness), I too am enjoying long, slow evening (or morning) walks in our small village (for fresh air)--without music, phone calls, or podcasts. It's probably not forever, but I'm currently so peaceful without the constant processing of other voices and input. Will think of you on my next evening walk!

I love this. I love all you do and all the beautiful, interesting things your brain comes up with. The first 50 years of my life I was like you, able to shift focus from one exciting thing to another and accomplish so much! Now I feel exhausted reading your letters and think “how does she fit so much in and do all you do? You are quite amazing, Impressive and fabulous! Thank you for sharing! I’m very excited about your book. Wonder if I could find a book club reviewing it?

I ordered my book. The delay is no deterrent. I also got notice that the new Smitten Kitchen cookbook I ordered is later now too.

2 different avenues. Activism for women’s rights and male accountability and Cooking! Thank you for being you.

I love how you write about your long walks! My long walks - in the company of my dog - are one of the most important everyday rituals that keep me happy ( more or less) in these times and help me get on with life. I sometimes specifically think about problems, often just let my mind wander, and I take breaks from all that thinking by looking around and really seeing what‘s next to me, over the fence or in the distance. And should I happen to talk to myself - I only spoke to my dog, of course…When I return home I always feel a bit better than before.

I remember reading years ago that the original reason that cannabis was made illegal was because anyone could make their own paper and 'Mr Big Paper/logger' was not down with that 🤔 love your walking pictures!

The first photo you included looks like a piece of artwork, and reminds me of something I would snap while out walking too. Just beautiful!

Am I being a bit prudish by finding the title off putting? No way am I going to carry that book when traveling, etc.
