In this newsletter: Reactions to Trump's first indictment, an essay from a future textbook, the easiest chocolate mousse recipe in the world, more book tour cities and dates, how to grow wheat grass for your spring displays, and more!
When you're in Chicago, why not hope over to Ann Arbor, Michigan and the University of Michigan?! Literati Bookstore would be a perfect partner for it.
Excited you are tentatively coming to Phoenix for a book event! Check out Changing Hands Bookstore in central Phoenix. It's one our few independent booksellers and has a nice space for events. https://www.changinghands.com/
Tulsa has a wonderful independent book store- Magic City. But unfortunately I will miss your visit to Tulsa as I will be in Ireland that week! Hope to catch you another time- love the book!
So delighted you have added more book tour stops in the US! I noticed you had one planned in SLC mid May, and if you wanted to add another in Utah county, I'd love to host you at my event space in Alpine! We just opened this year and aren't huge, but we can fit approx. 200 AND we have some big Gabrielle Blair fans here---myself at the top of that list! :) So put that idea in your back pocket! We'd love to host if you're interested! PS. here's the website: www.alpineworkshop.co
I'm so excited! Not only about the indictment, but that Tulsa, is on your tentative book tour! If it does happen, I will be there and bring as many friends as possible! I am following the indictment and was also partially following the Gwyneth Paltrow story. I heard part of her testimony and thought she did a good job.
So excited that you're coming to Salt Lake! Weller Book Works would be a perfect venue--amazing, super-cool owners (they'd love you and you them), funky good-atmosphere (in an old trolley barn, now a sort-of shopping mall called Trolley Square), centrally located with good public transportation access. The owners are friends and I'd be happy to help out!
Love this newsletter and all the good stuff you post.. I want to give you a little heads up that my dietician gave me, because, I am a lover of chocolate and I was eating quite a bit of it.. She sent me this article and I sobered up about it right away.. It's tragic as far as I'm concerned. But also interesting that in some cases it's the very expensive chocolate that has high levels of heavy metal.. They don't report on all brands of chocolate here, but several that I've eaten over the years, including Trader Joe's and Hu's, etc... I don't know why there's not more widespread info on this issue.. Esp for people like me who LOVE to eat a lot of chocolate. Apparently the issue is very widespread. Don't know what to do about it, but wanted to share the info with you since that chocolate mousse recipe and pics you posted surely is prompting me (and I'm sure others) to make it. LMK what you think.. Love, Gayle https://www.consumerreports.org/health/food-safety/lead-and-cadmium-in-dark-chocolate-a8480295550/
I'm excited that you're planning to come to Atlanta! I recommend Decatur (where I live), because it's progressive and bookish. The Georgia Center for the Book could be helpful. They're housed in the Decatur Public Library, which has an auditorium where they hold author events, many of which are co-hosted with independent local bookstores. Great local bookstores (that either have event space or partner with venues) are: A Cappella Books, Little Shop of Stories (officially a children's bookstore, but they stock your book!), and Charis Books (a small feminist bookstore). Wherever you end up holding the event, I'll be there -- and will bring friends!
Changing Hands, the largest independent bookstore in Phoenix, would probably be a great location/partner for you here in Arizona! Can’t wait to attend the event wherever it happens!
Mrs. Dalloway’s in Elmwood or Books, Inc at the top of Shattuck would both be great places for the Berkeley event. Missed you in SF, so jazzed for another opportunity to come see you!!

The King's English in SLC! It's the best.
Chicago!! Try Women and Children First on Clark Street or Bookends and Beginnings in Evanston.
I’m making that mousse!

I forgot to say that Magic City books in Tulsa, as Teri Shaffer said, is a great book store!
