In this newsletter: An update on my nephew's CPS horror, a new documentary about endometriosis, a review of the Barbie movie that I loved, and so much more.
WHY are people pairing Barbie with Oppenheimer ( haven't seen either ) ?
I reiterate, I haven't seen Barbie, BUT I think that I'd pay to see Quentin Tarantino's Barbie. 😉 Give her the briefcase from Pulp Fiction or make her like Beatrix Kiddo !
My understanding is that people found it funny how these two extremely different and much hyped movies were released on the same day and thought it would be fun to see them back-to-back. Hence the coining of "Barbenheimer." There's even a Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbenheimer
Gabrielle, on the topic of medical patriarchy, Dr. Mary Claire Haver, a board certified Ob/Gynie specializing in perimenopause and menopause just highlighted an Instagram reel by another doctor talking about the FDA approval of an FDA topical gel available over the counter for erectile dysfunction, wondering if they tested its safety on the women/vaginas/partners it would enter? and also potentially increases in violence against women? Thought provoking and concerning: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cu9a8OGOqWX/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Hi Gabrielle!! Love the idea of the trike-wash but oh my so much plastic! I thought about making one for our neighborhood.... my only is 19 but she would love to facilitate this for the younger kids.... if only there wasn’t so much plastic..... I’m trying to think of a way to do it without all the PVC.... we have an old barre she used to do barre class with in 2020, 2021, etc while ballet was virtual... but not sure I have the right bits for my drill to drill through steel piping...

We human beings do love our tendency to contradict ourselves. I think that we have that tendency in INCREDIBLE, MIND - NUMBING ABUNDANCE.

Loved the tiny car wash. I think I’d like a walkable adult one on my deck during this hot summer!
