Ooh! Sandwiches! The light-hearted distraction I need. Faves are:

1. Chicken Salad Sandwich at La Boulangerie in New Orleans. It’s got some bite!

2. The KGB at Cheba Hut in Denver—roast beef and horseradish. So good!

I make a curry chicken salad with raisins, apple bits, celery, toasted almonds slices on sourdough toast, it's is awesome. I make it 🔥 🥵 too, love that.

I had a BLT at the Morgan Library Cafe that was transcendent: beautiful bread, rocket, perfect organic crispy bacon, but what made it special was the T: more of a roasted cherry tomato sort of thing, not a jam, but smoky and roasty and tangy. FREAKING FABULOUS. AND at a Library!!

I have a friend who believes the first sandwich you eat in the new year sets the tone for the year :)

A good ol’ Primanti Bros sandwich from the Burgh for me. Nothing like a sandwich with fries on it! Gabrielle, is your new book also available to pre-order on other Amazon platforms (eg. France, Germany)? If not, I’ll grab the audio book. :)

That’s a great question and I don’t know the answer but I’ll find out.

Sandwiches! I agree the Jambon beurre is the best- I always get them when we’re in France. In Belmont, California there was a deli that made a Thanksgiving sandwich with turkey, cranberry sauce, and cream cheese that was deceptively amazing, and at home I love to make an albacore tuna mixed a little celery, red onion, Greek yogurt, and mustard and then layer it with avocado and standard potato chips! Hah!

Hold up. You lived in Athens, Greece too? On your list of books to write (I saw some suggest the next one should be on marriage/partnership, and I think that would be excellent), add your life story. I keep learning more amazing things you’ve done in the past, while enjoying the ones in the present.

Sandwich: roasted sweet potato with honey, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, and goat cheese on good crusty bread.

Can’t wait for the upcoming essay.

The classic jambon beurre is my favorite. And when I’m in France we eat it every day. And sometimes I’ll make a thinly sliced roast pork with celeri rémoulade on a baguette sandwich. I mean honestly any sandwich on a fresh baguette elevates a sandwich.

Still traumatised from lumps of butter hiding in 1980's sandwiches because the butter was kept in the fridge and it didn't spread well 😕 so not a fan of sandwiches or butter but i could happily survive on pitta and hummus forever 😀

Thank you very much for spelling "all right" properly -- I'm an editor (and teacher) and it just kills me to see "alright" all the time. Trying to fix it seems to be a lost cause ... but when it's done correctly, I do a little dance in my heart. Merci mille fois :)
