Hey there Gabrielle, my sister Allison was your college roommate I think! I live in Berlin, Germany. You would have NO problem finding an English speaking group or bookstore who would be interested in your event. Lots of English speakers here. I have never organized such an event, but I could definitely give you some leads in terms of bookstores, and all the Facebook groups where you could advertise. Your kids might enjoy visiting Berlin for the history. There are incredible underground tours of old WWII bunkers and Berlin Wall escape tunnels. The old wall itself is pretty sobering. There’s also incredible musical performances here, and museums, and the food culture has gotten way better since I moved here. Anyway, I say come to Berlin!

Fellow Berliner here - second the English bookstores and just a big English speaking community. - https://www.shakespeareandsons.com/ does events regularly and has a nice size (others are quite small). The largest English bookstore is in Dussmann Kulturkaufhaus, but they probably don‘t do things on short notice. If there is any leeway in your travel - do come to Berlin between May-October, winters are a bit harsh here.

For other German cities - I think Köln/Bonn could easily drawan English speaking crowd even if the universities have holidays (otherwise one of the old university towns - eg Heidelberg, Göttingen, Marburg, Freiburg, Tübingen would work as well, plus they are lovely).

Generally for visiting Germany in Feb- some regions celebrate Carneval or Fasnacht and if you are around, that is really fun/interesting They are quite distinct celebrations, as a child I considered Fasnacht a bit spooky, but prefer it (Carneval quite a party). If you try to see it look for a town that traditionally celebrates it (so not Frankfurt or Berlin or any other Protestant town)

If a visit to Cologne is of interest, I’d be happy to see if I can help.

I'm not based in Germany, but Frankfurt came to mind. Also, I was wondering - has there been any interest in a Norwegian version?

I was in Palm Springs over Thanksgiving with my family and made a point to drive by The Saguaro since I've seen it so many times over the years in your photos of Alt Summit. It was fun to be able to have a little more context for where you hold this conference and I *loved* Palm Springs in general. I hope your conference this year is a huge success and I appreciate you sharing the challenges of the last few years.
