I am so excited about your parenting book! I have always found your insights about raising kids to be so useful and I just love reading the way you think about parenting. I think it’s going to be a hit!

I love your instagram and this newsletter! I have also read and admire Ejaculate Responsibly and have even promoted it a time or two on Threads :) I've been watching to see if you will comment on the whole stubstack/nazi content issue. It must be a big challenge to navigate for so many of you using this platform. A few months ago, I would have upgraded to your paid newsletter. But I am not going to purchase any more paid subscriptions on substack, as I'm not comfortable subsidizing them any longer. Trying to decide what to do about current subscriptions. You may have seen this from Platformer/@crumbler on Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crumbler/post/C1noCTxxVrm?hl=en

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that substack changed their view on the whole Nazi thing. Unfortunately I don’t remember where I read it.

I think they made a superficial gesture but did not actually address the problem. That is why Platformer (one of their largest accounts) ended up making the move away.

Hi Ann. I feel like I'm very online and your comment is only the second time I've heard mention of the substack/nazi topic. I don't know what Platformer is and I haven't seen any chatter on Twitter at all. Maybe the chatter is happening on Threads? I haven't really used Threads since I first signed up, but I have been meaning to.

From what I understand, every social media platform I use has a serious nazi problem, and like many users I have begged these platforms to get rid of the nazis. Is the problem you reference different than the Instagram nazi problem or the Twitter nazi problem? I need to get caught up.

FYI: You certainly do not need to upgrade to my paid newsletter, but I think you should probably unsubscribe from me altogether, right? If you're reading my work, and my work is on Substack, then to my mind, you're still supporting Substack.

Hi Gabrielle, my understanding--which may be flawed--is that there are differences between the nazi problems on Substack vs other platforms. I am no longer on Twitter, but I have seen references to this in mainstream media like the NYT, CNN, The Atlantic and Rolling Stone. The Platformer newsletter references are definitely (for me) a Threads thing, so if you are not on Threads much, you probably would not have seen it. I would love it if you were on Threads more, as I have missed your commentary from Twitter!

As for your newsletter here, I flushed when I saw your comment that I should probably unsubscribe altogether. I reached out initially because your values are so strong and always on display with things like this so I had been curious about you would address it. I'm sorry I commented and wish I had left this alone. You are right, in principle, that subscribing for free is a form of support for Substack. And gosh, beyond the principle, I feel the nudge toward the door, so I will unsubcribe altogether. For what it's worth, I remain an admirer and look forward to more of your wonderful content on Instagram and -- I hope -- on Threads.

I encourage you to read more about the issue- basically it’s been overstated & there have been errors in the reporting. https://open.substack.com/pub/public/p/with-revenues-declining-corporate?r=12wojp&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=post

As a grandmother of 4 I eagerly await your parenting book. It has been a long time since I raised my children and boy have things changed. I feel lucky that kisses on a booboo still does wonders (please don't tell me otherwise!)

I started watching For All Mankind since the beginning because one of my TV boyfriends is Joel Kinnamen who plays Ed Baldwin. But I stuck with it because it’s so good! I haven’t watched season 4 yet though. I’m “saving” it.

Hi Gabrielle, sorry I’m a bit confused on what constitutes a paid subscription? A few years ago I signed up as a paid supporter ($50) and this just recently renewed for the next year. But now I see there is a $5/month option. Do I need to switch over in order to get the extra content? Would be happy to, just not sure how to do it! Posting here in case others have the same question.

Great question, Jean. If you recently renewed for the year, then you are all set and are considered a paid subscriber. (The $5/month option is for those who would prefer to pay each month instead of pay for the year up front, but both get the same content.)

when your YA Children Visit how much are you and your husband involved in the process? For example, do you plan to do things or do they come to Hang Out and Just Chill and Relax? Do you prepare for them like you do Guests? Clean tge House? Stock the Fridge? But a Ton of Gifts? How do you as an individual, plan your time when your YA? Do you take 9 days of vacay (I work for myself so. . boundaries..)
