I’ve been thinking about enrolling for several months and I think you just gave me the push I needed to do it. It’s scary to think of going back to school at 50-something but doing it along side you and other women makes it feel attainable. Thank you for the nudge!

I attended an amazing talk by Timothy Snyders last Friday in Amsterdam and he commented how important humanity studies are when facing down fascist governments. I think it’s great that you are pursuing this!

Love continuous learning even when the continuity is somewhat broken up by years or decades! During T’s first term I went back to school after 36 years and got my paralegal certificate. While philosophy may not be the thing for me I am looking into Newlane for sure. You continue to be my hero.

Treasure those rare family times! Are you familiar with MWEG (and our monthly book club)? Fulfills some of those desires: https://www.mormonwomenforethicalgovernment.org/get-involved

I am looking for a book/discussion group and would LOVE to join. I am thinking of doing a local group, but online will expand my exposure to ideas, thoughts, and others who want the same.

I don't have it in me to do a degree (is that limited thinking, or an actual limit of my time, energy and money? Who knows...) but the DISCUSSION GROUP I am ALL IN!

Ideas for names:

- SMASHING, (as in, we're smashing patriarchy and other things that need smashing, and also looking and feel smashing while we do it)

- TELL ME ABOUT IT, as in the "oy vey, can you believe it?" and also, I want other people to tell me about what they're reading, seeing and feeling.

- READING AND RESISTING. Not super clever, but gets the idea across

Thank you, as always, for all you do <3

I'd love to be a part of a bookclub of that nature. I'm in one at my local library, but often feel like I'm the most radical thing in the room, though i love the stability the sweet older women provide my life.

Love this so much. I had been considering Newlane for an additional degree (I have a BA and an MS) and this was the nudge I needed to sign up!
