Waving hello from New York City! I’m writing from a hotel on the Lower East Side. It’s a sunny day and the pigeons are visiting my windowsill. I’m so happy to be here. I arrived less than 24 hours ago and so far: I have had several Alt Summit meetings, an interview with the Boston Globe, an appointment to get my nails painted (I matched the color to the red on my book cover!), and I attended a really lovely soirée that my sister, Jordan Ferney, hosted at her gorgeous loft in Soho (Jordan matched the flowers to my book cover too!).
It was so wonderful to see old friends and meet new ones. Such a pleasure — so many smart, interesting, talented, amazing women. I feel super grateful to Jordan for putting it together.
And today? Well, the first book tour event is this evening! It’s really happening!! Will you be joining me at any of the events? I would love to meet you.

Flora June’s Room
The last project I finished before I left for the book tour was Flora June’s room. I got through the list of projects and details (making a bedside lamp, hanging the curtains, painting a little cupboard above her desk, sewing the canopy topper, etc.), and then we did a big photo shoot this last weekend.
I love how the room turned out! It’s one of my favorite spaces I’ve ever put together. And more importantly: Flora June seems to like it too. : )
I wrote a full blog post with 25 images from the photoshoot, plus another 20 images of the room “in process” so you can see what the progress was like. We tried really hard to reuse items we already had, and to buy used or second-hand wherever we could — I share all those details in the post as well. (If you prefer Instagram to blog posts, I shared similar details in this highlight.)
There’s so much I love about the room, but the wallpaper is definitely one highlight — it really is the star of the show decor-wise in the images. The pattern is called Atacama, and it’s from Farrow & Ball (it comes in four different colors).
That’s all for now. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Feel free to comment on anything I mentioned above, or whatever’s on your mind.
kisses,
Gabrielle

After reading your book, it occurred to me that you should do a TED talk on Ejaculate Responsibly.
